An Interview with Mark Groves and Kylie McBeath on “Liberated Love”

Our team at STYLE Canada had the pleasure of sitting down with Mark Groves, Canada’s prominent Human Connection Specialist, podcaster, social media star and founder of Create The Love, along with partner and Certified Health Coach Kylie McBeath, to chat about the launch of their groundbreaking book “Liberated Love”.

“Liberated Love” is a guide to breaking free from codependent patterns and nurturing the love you desire. Delving into family dynamics, romantic partnerships, and beyond, this modern manual empowers readers with insights on overcoming stagnation, fostering genuine connections, and embracing a fulfilling life. With a blend of personal anecdotes and expert advice, Groves and McBeath illuminate the path from protection to profound connection, advocating for choice, truth, safety, and respect. Prepare to embark on a journey of transformation and liberation.

How do you define being ‘liberated in love’?

We are liberated in love when we feel safe (and celebrated) to bring all of who we are — our needs, desires, and authentic self — into our relationships.

What’s one way to cultivate a love that invites us to grow into deeper relationships with ourselves and others?

Self-honesty is the doorway to deeper intimacy with self and with others. When we ask ourselves, “What is true for me right now?” and begin to honor our own limits, boundaries, and emotions, we stop going along to get along. We stop the dance of self-erasure and we welcome more of who we are (and who others are) to the table.

Any advice on how to regulate your nervous system while navigating a new relationship?

Notice how your nervous system responds to space in a new relationship. Do you want to move closer, faster? Do you feel overwhelmed when someone get closer, wants to move quicker? Noticing how your nervous system responds to space/distance allows you check-in with yourself about what’s underneath the activation. For example: I’m noticing my desire to accelerate the relationship because I feel anxious and uncertain. How can I tend to this anxious part of me? Put one hand on your heart and another on your belly and repeat: I’m here. I’ve got you. I’ll breathe with you until we are one. Allowing these parts to exist and be held is what allows us to relate to space/distance in new ways. Instead of letting them decide, we can check-in with the fears underneath and bring those forward in a more loving and conscious way.

You’re both powerhouses and we love the work you do! How do you find time for just the three of you?!

When people/projects/places/beings are a priority, you make time for them. Family and connection is one of our top core values, so we make sure to carve out the space to play, be, eat, and adventure together. This doesn’t have to be big, it can be as simple as going to a nightly walk together to check-in and connect.

Liberated Love, is available now on Amazon.ca and Indigo.ca.
